Quick Kite Update

Not pictured are our “missing” Swallow-tailed Kites Babcock, OK, Sawgrass, and PBC-ERM Female that have been out of cell service for one or two months now. We hope they are just fine and will connect with a cell network soon and upload their travel information!

October is when most Swallow-tailed Kites will settle into their winter ranges for the next few months. We are seeing that with Bayou Vincent in Bolivia and three kites in Mato Grosso do Sul: Ponchitolawa, Lacombe, and Sanibel.

The rest of the bunch is slowly moving through Brazil. PBC-ERM Male, JAX, and Suwannee are in Mato Grosso. Apopka and Hobolochitto are in Rondônia, while Sarasota and Wilson are following in Acre, Brazil.

Safe travels Swallow-tailed Kites!
